Through a Sinister Lens: Miriam Greenberg & Desirée Holman | Headlands, Marin

Date: 6/25/2009 (Thursday)
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Location: Eastwing, Building 944

In writing about her work, Miriam Greenberg (AIR '09) describes a series of poems that “…directly engage with issues of childhood amorality through a fabulist yet slightly sinister lens.” Interdisciplinary artist Desirée Holman (AIR '09) could be described as looking through a more literal "sinister lens," which she uses to record and bring together her multi-faceted practice of sculpture, drawing, performance and directing, costume, sound and set design. Both Greenberg and Holman are currently engaged with ideas of familial relationships and the fine line between reality and fantasy. Through dark humor and irony, these artists paint thoroughly different but equally compelling pictures of their observed and imagined worlds.
