Job Piston is a Los Angeles based artist that is influenced of theatrical performance, tableau painting and mythologies of personal histories. His work explores the idea of searching for something that is desired, often times featuring representations of the artist in various forms. Piston’s current project is a continuation of his interest in contemporary identity in the public and private realm. His work has recently been exhibited at Silverman Gallery, San Francisco, The San Francisco Arts Commision, Spinello Gallery, Miami, Artist Space, New York and MAK Center, Los Angeles. Job Piston is currently an MFA Canidate at University of California, Los Angeles and has an upcoming solo exhibition at Silverman Gallery in 2010.
